Swiss electric car manufacturer KYBURZ Switzerland AG continues its ongoing co-operation with Spies Hecker by painting two new vehicles in Axalta’s 2021 Global Automotive Colour of the Year, ElectroLight.

24 June 2021 – The ongoing successful collaboration between Swiss electric car manufacturer KYBURZ Switzerland AG and Spies Hecker, one of the premium refinish paint brands of Axalta, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, continues in 2021. For the third consecutive year, KYBURZ has selected Axalta’s Global Automotive Colour of the Year, ElectroLight, to showcase its newest prototypes, including the latest model of its DXS utility vehicle and its iconic eRod electric buggy.

“Much more than just a head-turning colour, ElectroLight’s functionality is as remarkable as its bold green-yellow hue,” says Olaf Adamek, Axalta Refinish Brand Manager for EMEA. “ElectroLight has been developed with greener vehicles in mind and specifically for a new generation of mobility solutions – making it an ideal choice for KYBURZ.”  

ElectroLight is formulated with reflective properties that make it highly visible to light detection and ranging (LiDAR) systems, while its layer structure and pigment content are easily transmissible by radio detection and ranging (RADAR) systems.

KYBURZ’s DXS and eRod were painted at Carrosserie Spritzwerk Philippe Mayeux in Rorbas, Switzerland, a Spies Hecker bodyshop for 24 years.

KYBURZ is renowned worldwide for its high spec multi-purpose electric vehicles; more than 23,000 KYBURZ vehicles are in use around the world and its best-known model, the KYBURZ DXP, is used as an inner city postal delivery vehicle in parts of Europe.
